Yesterday's Events...

Everyone woke up on Sunday morning to read unhinged posts from the president of the United States including conduct unbecoming of a world leader. Quickly, this was clowned on by most of the world, especially by Iran. Following this, we saw furthered doubling down, genocidal rhetoric, and ultimately an escalation to full genocidal threats and threats of nuclear annihilation. We at FurInform try our best not to fear monger, nor do we attempt to act as frontline journalists covering breaking stories except those of utmost importance. We refrained from speaking on this over the past few days as we knew other news organizations were already full to the brim with coverage of these stories.

For those in the US and other countries in the Americas, yesterday was spent with bated breath as to the outcome of the regime's threats. We waited to see if there would be a northern hemisphere on April 8th, or if there would be nothing more than nuclear wasteland and razed cities. We waited to see if the regime did launch nuclear weapons, if cooler heads in other states would prevail and we'd avoid mutually assured destruction. Make no mistake, regardless of what media may report, yesterday was the closest the human race has ever been to nuclear annihilation. An unstable dementia-ridden leader surrounded by fascist sycophants who gleefully support the regime from both parties. It is not hyperbole to say that yesterday marked a turning point in the fight against capitalism and its child, fascism. It is now more clear than ever that capitalism is not just a plight, or a threat to the environment, but rather an existential threat to the human race as a whole. Every day it goes unchallenged, every day it goes appeased with, every day it persists in all its myriad of forms, is one day closer to the death of civilization as we know it.

Cooler heads supposedly prevailed yesterday night. A deal was reached that hurts all involved except the ruling classes. American hegemony is officially over. The dollar is indeed tanking across global markets. Allies are abandoning the US, countries are maintaining that their ships will not proceed until more is known. Genocidal Israel is actively violating the terms of the ceasefire not twelve hours after it was announced. Regardless of the outcome of this situation, this illegal imperialist war, one thing remains clear. We can no longer tolerate the existence of capitalism. We must revolt, we must overcome, we must put an end to this threat immediately. Politicians will not save us, we saw how minimal the response to potential nuclear war was. We saw how Congress in the US refused outright to remove the president from power immediately. We must take away their nuclear button, we must take away their legitimacy, and we must take away their exploitation of us working class people.

The feeling of being infuriated by the response of the global community in response to this, especially of the American government, and the American people, is indescribable. The fact we did not have hoards of protesters attacking Washington DC to remove the fascists from power like we saw in South Korea. The fact Congress did not immediately reconvene, the fact it took the president actively threatening genocide against an entire people and the threat of nuclear weapons for the opposition party to finally say "maybe we should remove him." The fact far right supporters of this regime and the fascism at large in the US were ringing the alarm bells long before supposed proponents of democracy. The system has failed. It has not failed to uphold the capitalist end-game of society wide destruction at the behest and benefit of the ruling class, but failed to uphold its own guise of legitimacy. It has failed to pretend to support democracy, to support the working class, to adhere to the rule of law, to support human rights. Yet, people let it happen. People saw the legitimacy disappear, people saw the rose tinted glasses shatter on the floor, people saw the brazenness increase, and yet they let it happen. Nobody stormed DC yesterday, nobody acted in government to remove Trump's ability to launch nuclear weapons, no generals stood up and said I will not follow these orders, corporate news organizations sanitized the threats to their subscribers.

Anger is natural, and you should feel angry. If you do not feel angry, then you are not properly informed about the situation. Being upset is natural, and you should be upset. Feeling hopeless and nihilist is normal, and you should feel hopeless and nihilist given what transpired yesterday. We failed as a species. We were lucky that things did not reach extinction level, we are lucky we did not see yet another 21st century genocide streamed in 4K to our screens. It could happen tonight, it could happen tomorrow. It could never happen. We do not know. The threat of it happening is still there, it is still present and pervasive. We must take immediate action, however and whatever ways you are able, to put a swift end to these criminals and these inhuman bastards that control our world. We must not placate those who have not taken action already. If you enable an abuser, you are no better than the abuser. If you enable a genocide, you are complicit. These people who believe that holding up signs on street corners will suddenly remove the systems in place that created these conditions are asinine and deluded. These people who see what's going on and choose to support the regime must be held accountable. These people who "disagree" with the tactics and the "means" of the war but agree with the reasons behind it need to be forgotten in our march towards progress. We must push forwards, and we must be decisive in not allowing ourselves to be dragged down by the very people who stood as bystanders while this regime has now threatened the continued survival of not just our species, but the entire planet.

Do not sit idly by while your doom races to meet you at the hands of inhumanity. Be angry, be nihilistic, be upset, cut off contact with enablers, make those around you feel the consequences of their inaction.

Revolt.

In Solidarity,
